An enigmatic hemiobol from Asia Minor
Lot 300
ASIA MINOR. Uncertain. Circa 550-500 BC. Hemiobol (?) (Silver, 8 mm, 0.44 g). Uncertain three-legged symbol. Rev. Rough incuse square. Apparently unpublished, but cf. Roma 8 (2014), 291 for a related issue with A on the reverse, attributed to Argos or Psophis. Very rare. Darkly toned. Nearly extremely fine.

This coin is almost certainly not from the Peloponnesos but from western Asia Minor.
